Erneute Auszeichnung als Klimabündnisbetrieb für weitere fünf Jahre
In fünfjährigen Intervallen überprüft die Energieberatung des Umwelt Service Salzburg Klimabündnisbetriebe.
Das Klimabündnis ist die erfolgreichste Klimaschutzorganisation Österreichs. 1990 in Frankfurt am Main mit 12 Gemeinden aus Österreich, Deutschland und der Schweiz gegründet, fühlen sich mittlerweile fast 900 Gemeinden, über 500 Betriebe und rund 200 Bildungseinrichtungen allein in Österreich den Zielen des Klimabündnisses verpflichtet – Tendenz steigend!

Sustainability as a survival strategy
One of the decisive factors for this was regionalism and sustainability, which is reflected throughout the house.
In the area of energy-use the Hotel is a model enterprise: the modern wood-chip heating system is fueled by wood from the Salzburg forests, the boiler was produced in Austria. This assures some farming businesses in Salzburg an additional income. The transportation routes are short and don’t endanger the environment!
Energy policy includes climate- and environmental protection.
The purest water, green meadows, delicious meats and tender vegetables are not a given, but the result of the work of thousands of farms in the state of Salzburg. The foodstuffs used at the Heffterhof come for the most part from these very farms. The connection of the environment and food products is a further incentive to give preference to Salzburg products.
“Know where it comes from: the source is our best resource!” This is the guiding management philosophy of the Heffterhof.
