As a certified eco label operation it’s immensely important to us to ensure resources are used sensibly. Our efforts to avoid the use of plastic and chemicals, and to waste as little food as possible (United Against Waste), have already been acknowledged by the experts with many awards:
At the 4-star Hotel Heffterhof in a part of the town known as Parsch, great food and drink have always played a major role. Emphasising our strong agricultural roots ensures a strong affinity to locally grown and produced ingredients. This corporate philosophy has earned us the ‘AMA-Gastrosiegel’ seal, and we are partners of both the ‘Genuss Region Austria’ association and ‘BIO AUSTRIA’. No wonder our head chef Lukas Landertinger values local suppliers so highly, and offers dishes made from seasonally available ingredients – many of which are drawn from ‘Genuss Region Austria’ members.
Climate protection is given a very high priority at Hotel Heffterhof. As Climate Association members we pay close attention to keeping energy consumption and waste production as low as possible. Our guests are made aware of this intention, and the hotel guarantees ecologically sustainable practices in the fields of service, cuisine, room cleaning and organisation.
The Heffterhof is a ‘Green Meetings’ licensee, guaranteeing guests ideal venues for their seminars in a leafy suburb at the foot of Mount Gaisberg, just a short walk from the centre of the city. We offer plenty of healthy, regionally-sourced cuisine from local and domestic farmers – and all resources are used intelligently.
Hotel Heffterhof only uses products from the region that have been certified by the Salzburger Agrar Marketing association. Each item’s origins have been checked and confirmed, proving how effective cooperation with local farmers is. It’s success you can taste!
Healthy breakfasts at the Heffterhof are almost 100% ORGANIC. Having been inspected by Salzburg’s agricultural inspectorate (SLK), the hotel was then registered as a BIO AUSTRIA partner.
The 4-star Hotel Heffterhof encourages ecologically sustainable food economy practices and is an official ‘Genuss Region’ partner. Domestic and regional produce is prioritised, and when sourcing ingredients not produced locally, great efforts are made to ensure the shortest possible transport distances.
